SEVERE MALARIA

Severe malaria: a major global health threat that is rare but life threatening

Malaria is a serious and sometimes fatal disease caused by a parasite in Anopheles mosquitoes. Mosquitoes transmit malaria from one person to another. People with malaria have symptoms that range from very mild illness to severe disease and even death. Early symptoms can include fever and flu-like illness, chills, headache, and muscle aches. If not treated quickly, the infection can become severe.
